VISTA

VIsual STAtistics package from the CCDS.

Its purpose is to provide an easy-to-use , interactive facility for the analysis and display of statistics following the results of a database search. VISTA reads the tables files which are automatically generated by QUEST when 3D parameters are defined for a CSD search. Data is read directly into the VISTA spreadsheet from where all analysis of the search results is carried out. VISTA can generate histograms, scattergrams and polar plots and can perform principal component analysis and correlation/covariance analysis.

VISTA provides the facilities for:

Exporing the dataset.
Checking on the actual data entry in normal 1D/2D/3D displays.
Excluding entries as required.
Relating geometrical results to their chemical and structural context.

There is also extensive Postscript editing features for output of histograms and scatter diagrams for printing.
