CrystalWeb: Web access to full range
of crystallographic databases
CrystalWeb provides a full range of search facilities (author,
journal, formula, compound name, atom coordination environment, etc)
for the full CDS crystallographic database collection within a
unified web browser interface.
Component databases available via CrystalWeb currently include
- Cambridge Structural Database (CSD)
- Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD)
- CrystMet from Toth Information System and
- NIST Crystal Data Identification File.
In addition data from the Southampton Crystallographic Repository is harvested and we will add further repositories as they become available through the eCrystals Project.
CrystalWeb uses the open source
Jmol
Java application to provide 3D display of crystal structures.
Hyperlinks are provided to the on-line literature (where available),
giving single click access to electronic sources of the article via
the
CrossRef
system. We also provide direct searching of the RSC
ChemSpider
site for component molecules within retrieved structures. An
introduction
to starting and using CrystalWeb is available as a Flash movie. There
are also articles giving some brief details
You can access CrystalWeb by first
logging on
then using the
menu on the top pulldown menu on all CDS web pages.
