Technology for Organic Synthesis (TOS) Department was founded at the Chemical Technology Faculty of The Urals Industrial Institute (The Urals State Technical University at present) in 1947. The main task for the newly founded Department was to prepare engineers for chemical plants that were evacuated from the western part of USSR during the Great Patriotic War (years 1941-1945).

Building blocks
