Summer 2012 Newsletter

This edition of the Newsletter gives further details about the current state of the Service and what has changed over the past 12 months.

In this issue there is news about:

PeakQuest - a new utility for Powder Patterns

There are new User Trials for:
Chemisches Zentralblatt, the first and oldest abstracted journal published in the field of chemistry
I-Lab 2.0 - much improved searching, prediction and display modules for NMR, Physical Chemistry and Naming PLUS, for a trial period, 2 new modules ACD/Tox Suite and ACD/ADME Suite.

There is information about an app, SPRESImobile, for the iPad and iPhone that gives access to 400,000 literature reactions. There is also an articles about recent developments with CrystalWorks.

This edition of the Newsletter gives further details about the current state of the Service and what has changed over the past 6 months.

In particular there is news about upgrades to Mercury and access to SuperStar along with a new Building Blocks Suppliers set of catalogues.

Winter 2010 Newsletter

This edition of the Newsletter gives further details about the current state of the Service, what has changed over the past 6 months and what may be coming soon.

In particular there is news on funding for a Chemical Database Facility, trials of Symyx/Accelrys databases and ARChem software and news about 'CrystalWorks', a new component of CrystalWeb.

There is also news about database updates, usage figures and changes for Accord Database users.

Spring 2010 Newsletter

This edition features news of the trial of Symyx databases, including Organic Syntheses and Available Chemicals Directory databases plus 3 Accelrys specialist databases now available to access.

There is also news about login changes, generating a forgotten password, Twitter, database updates and results of a RIN/JISC survey.

Spring/Summer 2009 Newsletter

A review by EPSRC of for 'Mid Range' Services means a Statement of Need is required from users for the continued availability of a Service.

The EPSRC has agreed further funding of the ACD/Labs I-Labs service provided by the Chemical Database Service. This will ensure continuation of I-Lab on the CDS until at least 31/3/2011

The CDS has made arrangements to make the SPRESIweb system available to its user community until 31/03/2010

Winter 2008/9 Newsletter

This edition of the Newsletter features articles on new updates and new security measures effecting users over the last 6 months. The Newsletter also includes information on what's coming soon such as WebCSD and Shibboleth. In particular there are details about SPRESIWeb, a structure and reaction database, which will be starting in the new year.

Summer 2008 Newsletter

This edition of the Newsletter features articles giving further details about the current state of the Service and what has changed over the past 6 months.

In particular there are significant new developments with the ACD/I-Lab and Detherm systems. Both are now available via web browser interfaces.

The Newsletter also includes some details of the recent User Survey relating to loss of the Organic Synthesis components. In response to user concerns here we have set up some trial Suppliers Catalogue and Screening compound database.
